Watch Dial: Vintage Fathoms "No Rads"
This is the kind of dial that tells a story. In the 1960s, growing awareness of radium’s harmful effects sparked a shift in watchmaking. Originally used for its glowing properties, radium was found to be dangerously radioactive — a concern especially serious in military-issued dive watches. Watchmakers quickly looked for safer alternatives and began marking their dials to show they were radiation-free.

This Vintage Fathoms dial is filled with a custom blend of C3 Super-LumiNova and brown pigments to achieve a warm vintage lume tone. Due to the added pigments, please note that lume intensity and longevity are reduced compared to standard C3 Lume.
Our dials are 28.5mm in diameter and compatible with multiple Seiko movements such as 7S26, 7S36, 4R15, 4R35, 6R15, NE15, NH25, NH26, NH35, NH36, NH70, NH71, NH72 etc
Each dial has 4 legs for either 3 or 4 o'clock crown positions. To fit either crown position movement, just snip off the 2 legs accordingly.
