Watch modding lets enthusiasts build the timepieces of their dreams - but those dreams have to come from somewhere.

If you don’t love the same old watches that you see on so many other wrists and you want to use your own ideas with new watch mod parts, modding is the way to express yourself and be creative.

In addition to taking inspiration from the most popular watch mod brands like Seiko, it’s possible to use high-end luxury watch designs that have interesting bezels or dials that shine, sparkle, or have fun colors.

Here’s our list of 5 luxury watches that inspired modding dials that you may be interested in - have a look, and get inspired!

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

In the 1970s, the timepiece manufacturer mainly focused on small dress watches equipped with incredible mechanisms. The birth of Royal Oak was its first sports watch and an extremely innovative watch.

The Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet is one of the most desirable modern luxury sports watches. Numerous models of the Royal Oak have been produced over the years and some of them have become coveted, like the Royal Oak Ref. 5402ST.

We can’t expect less from its designer, Gérald Genta!

The newest model, Ref. 15500, has no significant deviations from the basic Royal Oak design, but there are some major updates and changes in the movement and dial, which has a square pattern called the Grande Tapisserie.

You will find that the convex squares on the dial have a line pattern and the lower portions have a grain pattern demonstrating the degree of detail in the design.

One of the reasons luxury sports watches are so in demand is because they go with just about anything, and can stand up to the elements.

This was the inspiration for our Oak Navy Blue dial which works with the NH35 movement, and brings the style of the Royal Oak dial to any watch mod you want to do. We use top-grade materials, and you can see the level of quality we incorporate into all our watch dials.

Patek Philippe Nautilus

Similar to the AP Royal Oak, the Patek Philippe Nautilus is also a sports watch that was made to embody luxury, and was also designed by Gérald Genta.

The watch has captured the watch community's attention with its unique design and incredible quality since the 1970s.

Manufactured almost entirely by hand, each Patek Philippe Nautilus is a piece of art. The dials on the Patek Philippe Nautilus are simple but elegant, and feature horizontal lines, and applied stick markers.

Some of the Nautilus dials are designed with a sunburst finish, and there are also flat colors like black, blue and silver. Produced in limited quantities, the timepiece is one of the very first luxury sports watches and is still one of the hardest watches to buy new.

If you want to create a modded watch inspired by the Nautilus, check out our Nautilus Navy Blue dial. It can be used with the NH35, and features all the subtle and classy design touches of the original.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual

Rolex is the most widely known luxury watch brand in the world, and the Oyster Perpetual has all the design cues that Rolex fans love.

The allure of owning a Rolex has never made it any cheaper. For anyone who wants a classic Rolex design with modern parts, the Oyster Perpetual has it all. Everything about it is simple - from the smooth, polished bezel to the dateless dial.

To be sure, the Oyster Perpetual is simple, and the price tag for this three-hander might be intimidating. We think the Oyster Perpetual dial would work in numerous watch mods, which is why we offer it in a range of colors.

Tudor Black Bay

As the sister brand of Rolex, Tudor is a collection of watches with instant recognition, and a bold style all its own. The Tudor Black Bay is inspired by a long line of diver’s watches, and uses the new, fully in-house movement, calibre MT5602.

An outstanding feature of the watch is the gilt-colored detail on its dial. The seconds' track, font, hands and indices all feature a gilt-colored detail that gives a feeling of nostalgia and warmth.

When considering its reputation, brand value, and all the features, the Black Bay is only overtaken by the likes of Rolex and not many else. Keen to make a homage to the “BB”? You can use our Vintage Tropical Divemaster dial for your own, homemade Black Bay.

Rolex Submariner

The Rolex Submariner is one of the true icons in the watch industry. With a style that has defined what a dive watch is for more than 50 years, the Submariner is an eternal classic.

As Rolex grew in popularity, the Submariner dial evolved. The early painted dials were upgraded to applied markers, and the matte finish was replaced with an amazing gloss black.

We offer a full line of Submariner style dials, which we call the Divemaster, in both painted versions, and applied markers. Also, we have some of the ‘greatest hits’ from the back catalog, so you can make just about any kind of Submariner inspired Seiko mod.

Our modern version with applied markers is made to work with the NH36, so you can have a Submariner style dial on your Seiko mod, and still keep the day complication!

Build the Mods of Your Dreams

Seiko has long been known as the most popular brand in the modding space. The SKX007 mod is one of the best places for any watch modder to start, and we have a great set of parts for any modder to choose from.

A wide range of Seiko spare parts make it simple to create new mod watches with OEM parts, and the huge variety of aftermarket watch parts give modders infinite modding possibilities.

At namokiMODS, we are more than a watch parts maker - we love watches. Look at the aftermarket dials and watch mod parts we featured in this article, and think about all the possibilities we create for you.

Happy modding!
