NH 34 movement

As advertised, can’t beat the SII Seiko’s fair price at Namoki

Beautiful movement

This movement ticked all the boxes for my BB58 build. Paired with a gold Geneve rotor and sapphire case back it really makes the watch

It's A Work Horse

I know alot of watch snobs knock this movement (but they also knock the 6R35 as well), but this thing is just hard to beat. Yes, it has an average beat rate, and no, it's not a fancy ETA or Valjoux, but it's not priced like those things are either. I know the factory standard is a bit loose, but you can regulate these to quite tight tolerances, you just have to be willing to do it. If you're not, you're not likely to see the drift in time in a way that will annoy you. I'm usually resetting my watch for one reason or another at least every month, which means that I'm correcting any drift on at least that basis.

No, not the behavior I'd expect out of a high end Swiss movement, but no one ever claimed that's what this is. It's a simple, solid, sturdy Japanese movement that performs well and reliably for what it is.
