Watch Dial: Sakura Yellow

S$49.00 S$65.00

Description

We're back with more engraved dials with this Sakura dial in yellow finish. It has an intricate design pattern fanning out that reminds us of a cherry blossom and a light sunburst finish that shimmers at different angles, all while having a wonderful complexity that doesn't distract from being a very readable dial.

The Sakura dial is filled with C3 Super-LumiNova® Lume. C3 Super-LumiNova Lume is the brightest of all lume colours, topping the Super-LumiNova table at 100% relative brightness and giving off a bright, green glow that typically lasts for 7 to 10 hours. It will match the stock Seiko LumiBrite hands and any of our watch hands options perfectly.

Our dials are 28.5mm in diameter and compatible with Seiko movements such as 7S26, 7S36, 4R15, 4R35, 6R15, NE15, NH25, NH26, NH35, NH36, NH70, NH71, NH72 etc

Each dial has 4 legs for either 3 or 4 o'clock crown positions. To fit either crown position movement, just snip off the 2 legs accordingly.

Our dials are compatible with Seiko models that are using the above movements, such as SNK803, SNK805, SNK807, SNK809, SKX007, SKX009, SKX011, SKX013, SKX015, SKX017, SNZF15, SNZF17, SNZF19, SNZG13, SNZG15, SNZH55 and more.

Beautiful Deep Blue

I don't think the page photography does this dial justice. The blue is just gorgeous. Yes, it dim light it is more black than blue, but in reasonable light it is an amazing lapis blue.

I'm not going to dock this dial for lume performance, but be aware that there is NOT much lume on it. Just thin strips on the indices. If you charge it bright sunlight, or with a UV lamp, and then immediately go into a dark place, you get a nice solid glow. However, that's not really a very "real world" use case. On the other hand, if I just wear the watch all day, some of the time outside in whatever weather nature offers me that day, but most of the time inside (with whatever natural light comes through the windows), etc, and then look at my watch at say 10 PM in a dimly lit, or even fully dark, room I'd be hard pressed to know that there was lume there. There is a faint glow, but you gotta really look for it.

I'm not diving with this watch, and I'm not really counting on being able to read the time in the full dark, so I'm not going to knock it, but this is NOT a dive dial that is going to light up a room hours after sunset.

I paired this dial with the silver Oak hands and love the combination.

The paint bubbled

I put this and the hands on a watch about a year ago and had a problem with the crystal stopping the second hand. I set it aside for a year and came back and the hands and dial where the white was was all bubbled up and flaking. I am buying another set to see how it works. It seems to somehow have been corroded just sitting on a dresser all sealed up.

White/silver dial

Beautifully finished great detail, be careful the “automatic” script comes off easily
