Wimbledon 2025 is already ancient history at this point, but the buzz around what celebrities wore, and more importantly, what they wore on their wrists, is still something worth revisiting for Seiko modders. For watch fans, the tournament is like a mini fashion week where A-listers bring out some of their boldest, rarest, and most eye-catching timepieces. A flexing match happening in the courtside. Even if they didn’t mean to get noticed and are just wearing their watches because they want to, we just can’t help but put the spotlight on these watches and wish that someday we can also have them in our collection somehow.

But here’s the thing: not all of us have spare trunks of cash lying around to spend on a watch. These Wimbledon pieces can range from tens to hundreds of thousands, making them just a dream for many of us. Luckily if we can’t get them, we can always use them for inspiration when we build our Seiko mods at home. With the right parts and creativity, you can build your own take on the kinds of luxury watches spotted at the seats without needing Beckham’s bank account. Let’s take a look at the highlights and then see how you can recreate them at home.

Celebrity Watch Spotlight: The Stars of Wimbledon 2025

When people think of Wimbledon, they usually picture strawberries and cream, players in all-white, and the sound of rackets hitting tennis balls. But if you look a little closer, there’s another game happening off the court: the fashion game. Celebrities in the Royal Box often treat Wimbledon like a fashion runway, and the watches on their wrists are some of the biggest highlights. This year, a few standouts that we think are great muses to impart inspiration if you’re into the luxury watch look.

David Beckham’s Diamond-Dusted Tudor

Sir David Beckham has one of the most recognizable wrists in the world, covered in tattoos that stretch all the way to his fingers. This year at Wimbledon, though, it wasn’t the ink that caught people’s eyes but a brand-new Tudor Black Bay Chrono unlike anything you’d find in stores. It was a one-of-a-kind, diamond-set creation made just for him in celebration of his 50th birthday. Lucky guy.

The iced out watch itself looked nothing like the tough, sporty Tudors most people know. Its black lacquer dial was stripped down, showing only the Tudor logo and the words “Swiss Made,” leaving behind a clean, reverse-panda look with bright white subdials. The bezel was even more unique, with diamonds set in two neat rows all around the case, giving off a vintage feel. And to top it off, the lugs and bracelet center links were also littered with gems, making the entire watch shimmer.

With its unique features, this Tudor watch is admittedly hard to faithfully homage, but we can still build a watch inspired by it. Our suggestion for the case would be the NMK939 BB58 case for that signature sleek profile, and for the face, we’re using the Divemaster Black Mother of Pearl that has a shimmering finish to evoke the diamond facade of the Beckham watch. We pair it with Snowflake hands and emphasize the look of the dial by using a sterile matte bezel insert, and you have yourself an eye-catching Tudor.

John Cena’s “Polar” Rolex Explorer II

On the opposite end of the spectrum was John Cena. Instead of diamonds, he went for a functional, almost non-chalant look. As if to say, “you can’t see me anyway, so let me put on a common watch (by rich people's standards).” Well Peacemaker, we still noticed. His Rolex Explorer II Polar featured a clean white dial with bold black hands and markers, making it one of the most legible watches out there. Originally designed for cave explorers, this watch is all about toughness and function and can probably survive its fair share of brushes with jagged rocks. But paired with Cena’s larger-than-life persona, it still came off as a flex. And we’re all for it!

For a Polar Explorer mod, the parts list is a bit more straightforward. You have the NMK941 Submariner Style case that’s the perfect base for GMT builds. The face will consist of the GMT Divemaster White dial which already has the right hole width for the NH34, and it will be accompanied by a set of Mercedes hands along with a red or orange GMT hand. Finish it off with a GMT Steel fixed bezel and you’ve got yourself a true to form Polar mod.

Tom Holland’s Platinum Daytona

And then came your friendly neighborhood Tom Holland, who stole the show without even trying. The Spider-Man star wore one of the most elusive Rolexes ever made: the platinum Daytona ref 116506 with an ice-blue dial and chocolate brown ceramic bezel. This is a limited-edition model released for the Daytona’s 50th year anniversary back in 2013 and is the kind of piece most collectors will only ever dream about. Its rarity, weight, and cool-toned color combo make it instantly stand out. On Holland’s wrist, it looked both youthful and sophisticated, sealing his spot as one of the best-dressed celebrities at the event.

It’s going to be pretty hard making a Seiko mod that incorporates platinum, but we can still create a build that pays tribute to the limited edition watch. For the base, we can either use the NMK909 which is another of our Submariner-inspired cases, or the 62MAS case for something a bit more streamlined. For either case, we’d suggest our beautiful GS Sunburst Ice Blue watch paired with either the steel or rose gold finish of the Daytona style hands. We bring it together with this BlackBay style Brown Insert and voila! Of course having it as a chronograph would have been much better, but for what’s currently available this should be a good reference.

Wrap-Up

Celebrity watches at Wimbledon make statements. Some go loud, some go subtle, but every piece says something about the person wearing it. And thanks to the world of Seiko mods, you don’t need to be a world-renowned athlete or actor to pull off that kind of style. With the right mix of Seiko mod parts, you can create a piece that captures the same energy, only with your personal twist.

So if Wimbledon 2025 left you inspired, why not start your own build? Go ahead and explore our wide range of cases and parts, and get building. You might even get new ideas as you browse our hundreds of available mod parts.
